The Porch
important update
Mondays and Thursdays
Arrive anytime after 12pm (noon) to get a "number."
Distribution starts anytime after the food arrives (which is around 12:30pm).
Park on right hand side of parking lot beside gymnasium, and stay in your vehicle. Our volunteers will come to you in the order in which you arrived to invite you into The Porch so you can personally select the food you want.
Providing fruit, vegetables and bread for free for anyone in need on Mondays and Thursdays.
We are not a Pantry and the food we provide is to be considered a supplement to other food sources. There is no restriction on the number of visits, and we do not take names or contact information, the only thing we ask is that you tell us how many people you are feeding.

Some of our faithful and hardworking volunteers
We are known as a "gleaning Pantry" because we glean from many people and places who give us food
to give away.
We record the number of households who come and the number of visits made.
In 2022 we have served 93 different households so far through the Porch: not everyone comes every week.
The number of visits made from January to August
was 1148.
Through those vists, total needs met for supplemental food has been 2388.
The Porch continues in loving memory of Eleanor Miller who for several decades provided the local community with fresh food from her own Porch. Her motto was always “Take what you need, but use what you take.”
We are so grateful to churches and groups who provide donations of canned goods, fresh food and personal care items to keep our shelves stocked! These donations helped us feed many hungry families in Van Buren County.
Supporters include:
St Mark's Episcopal Church
Senior Services of Van Buren County
The Lion's Club
Refresco (formerly CocaCola)
Western Diversified Plastics
Many Local Farmers
Other Pantries often give us what they have left from their own distribution days. Huge thanks to:
Mattawan Area Pantry
Eleanor's Pantry, Paw Paw.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
- Psalm 34:8
During the COVID 19 shut down, between the months of March and June 2020 we provided food to 1,200 people through a drive through service. Donations and funding came from local churches, United Way, and many individuals. We could not have served our community without the many volunteers who willingly gave their time.
Thank you to everyone!
