The Porch

important update

Mondays and Thursdays

1:00pm (do not arrive before 12:45pm)

Park on right hand side of parking lot behind gymnasium, and stay in your vehicle. Our volunteers will come to you in the order in which you arrived to give you a food package.

Providing fruit, vegetables and bread for free for anyone in need on Mondays and Thursdays.
We are not a Pantry and the food we provide is to be considered a supplement to other food sources. There is no restriction on the number of visits, and we do not take names or contact information, the only thing we ask is that you tell us how many people you are feeding.

Some of our faithful and hardworking volunteers

In 2020, we were able to provide supplemental items to 3691 individuals because of the generous donations of produce and bread from Harding’s of Woodbridge* and Panera Bread.**
We also received donations from local churches and Coca Cola throughout the year.
We are so grateful and blessed.

The Porch continues in loving memory of Eleanor Miller who for several decades provided the local community with fresh food from her own Porch. Her motto was always “Take what you need, but use what you take.”
Thank you to Freshwater Youth Group and Senior Services in Paw Paw for hosting a canned food drive for UCS. These donations helped us feed many hungry families in Van Buren County.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

During the COVID 19 shut down, between the months of March and June 2020 we provided food to 1,200 people through a drive through service. Donations and funding came from local churches, United Way, and many individuals. We could not have served our community without the many volunteers who willingly gave their time.

Thank you to everyone!
