United Christian Services is a collaboration of Churches and non -profits who work together to help those in emergency situations in the local community. We also have connections with other agencies who offer advice, resources and assistance.
We are run entirely by a team of volunteers and our funding is provided by partner churches, United Way and donations from individuals.
our Mission statement
United Christian Services embraces the teaching of Jesus to care for one another through assistance in emergencies, while encouraging self-sufficiency in Gobles, Paw Paw, Mattawan, Lawton, Lawrence and Decatur.
We are blessed with a team of faithful servants and we couldn’t do what we do without them!
We are Christian-based, founded on Christian principles. We reflect these values in all the services we provide.
We treat others with dignity, recognizing the inherent worth of each person, and treating them with respect, compassion, kindness and acceptance.
We demonstrate integrity, with transparency in all we do, adhering to moral and ethical principles, being good stewards of our resources.
We collaborate with many organizations and individuals in the local area to achieve community, maintaining a passion to serve and touch lives, helping to create a better society for all.
Striving towards leadership in the community, we share best practices, information and resources with churches and non-profits for the benefit of all agencies and clients we serve.
We feel a deep gratitude to all our volunteers, supporters and to God for their giving generosity and provision.
"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Where possible, we assist with situations such as utility shutoffs, evictions, and other emergencies, but we strive to help our clients achieve self-sufficiency.
